Mark Teixeira spoke in the Bronx today to publicly announce joining the Yankees with an 8 year contract offering $180 million to the first basemen. He maybe the bread winner, but after the announcement today you can see who wears the pants in the relationship.

“Two weeks before Christmas, I talked to (my wife) Leigh about it again, and we kind of decided that, hey, the Yankees are where we want to be. Cash (Brain Cashman) might want t ogive Leigh a hug, because when I asked her during the process, ‘Where should I go, where should I go?,’ she’d always say, ‘I just want you to be happy. ‘Finally she said, ‘I want you to be a Yankee, ‘and it was a done deal.” Wonder where he would have gone if his wife let him pick. Who really cares about the team….I thought MLB and NLB players where only in it for the money anyway! Highest bidder would have gotten my vote.
