The UFC is Better than Boxing
Sunday, November 16th, 2008Check out these five reasons UFC is better than boxing.
1. Violence Sells
Boxing is a violent sport but compared to mixed martial arts, it looks like walking in the park on a clear spring day. While in boxing the fighters wear plush gloves and are only allowed a certain number of moves, the UFC gives fighters virtually free reign to beat their opponent any way they see fit.
2. More Good Fights
In boxing, how many boxers are actually fun to watch? You can probably name fighters you would pay to see on one hand. During a UFC event, you get nearly a dozen fights – each with their own sub plot. If one or two fights disappoint, there are plenty others to make up for it.
3. No Attention Span Needed
We like things fast. Fast food. Fast cars. Fast girls. The UFC fights are very fast. Three rounds instead of the usual 12 rounds in boxing makes a big difference. You can watch a whole fight without having to get up to get a replacement beer.
4. Getting Better and Better
Boxing is an old sport. It’s been around forever. The same powerful people behind the scenes have controlled the sport for decades. The UFC, on the other hand, is new. Everyone likes to be a part of the up and coming. Being a UFC fan now is like getting in on the ground floor of a successful corporation.
5. UFC Ring Girls
