This weekend the Baltimore Ravens will travel to Dallas to play the Cowboys in the last ever regular season game at Texas Stadium. Both teams are fighting for a playoff berth and desperately need a win. The loser will probably end up on the outside of the NFL postseason, while the winner will be practically guaranteed a spot. Both teams have practiced and prepared all week as if this is a postseason game, but one Baltimore player has something on his mind besides football. Terrell Suggs cannot wait to see Jessica Simpson.

Simpson is the boyfriend of Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo and can usually be found in a luxury box high above the stadium. She is regularly shown on TV and the stadium’s Jumbotron. There is also a little bit of Dallas superstition that says that her boyfriend does not play well when she is in attendance. Either he tries too hard to impress her or he can’t get her off his mind when his concentration is required to be elsewhere.  Perhaps this is what Suggs is hoping for.

The Baltimore Ravens have always been known for their defense, and this season is no different. They are a tough, swarming defense with some of the best defensive players and athletes in the NFL. It is hard enough to react to their defense with a clear head, let alone with visions of your pop star girlfriend dancing in your head. There may or may not be anything to those superstitions, but Suggs will take what he can get, and, she’s not too bad to look at either.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo didn’t show up on the field on Sunday for the Cowboys due to his broken finger, but he did show up at his girlfriend Jessica Simpson’s concert last Friday night.

Fans who were at Jessica’s concert in Dallas said Tony sang along to all of the songs throughout the show. And as you know, Tony likes to sing.

Cowboys fans hoped that their quarterback would be back on the field this Sunday as Dallas takes on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but it looks like Romo will be out for a couple more weeks.

Depending on who you listen to, it seems that Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo has split from girlfriend Jessica Simpson. According to OK! magazine, the final straw was when Simpson told Romo she couldn’t move to Texas and instead wanted to stay in Los Angeles.

While Simpson’s representatives have come out vehemently denying this report, it’s tough to know who to believe. If the rumor is accurate, this would be a bizarre ending to a bizarre love affair.

Shortly after Romo and Simpson began dating, Romo’s play and the play of his team began to decline. At one point in the season, the Cowboys were 12-1 and were considered the favorites in the NFC and were expected to get to the Super Bowl. However, Dallas would go on to lose three of their final four games, including their playoff opener against the New York Giants.

It’s tough to blame a player’s girlfriend for the collapse of a team but that is what the city of Dallas is doing. Romo, who was named to the Pro Bowl after having a great regular season, is under fire for letting his personal life affect the team. Simpson is under fire for being the team’s bad luck charm.

In the best interest of everyone involved, this celebrity romance might be better off if it were to end. Romo would face added pressure next season and Simpson would be the one blamed for every mistake Romo makes.

Besides, there can’t be that much emotional attachment in this three month winter fling. And it’s not like either Romo or Simpson will be struggling to find a date.

In Week 15 of the NFL season, when Jessica Simpson proudly wore her pink #9 Cowboys jersey to the Dallas game against the Philadelphia Eagles, the cameras couldn’t keep their lenses off her. But at the end of the day, was Jessica to blame for boyfriend Tony Romo’s worst outing of the season?

Romo finished the game with three interceptions as he completed only 13 of 36 pass attempts. When Dallas wide receiver Terrell Owens joked in the locker room after the game that Jessica might distract Tony a little bit, maybe it wasn’t that far off base.

“Right now, Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite in this locker room or in Texas Stadium,” said the outspoken T.O. “I think with everything that has happened, and obviously the way Tony played and the comparison between her and Carrie Underwood (Romo’s ex-girlfriend), I think a lot of people feel like she’s probably taking his focus away.”

Owens later cleared it up that he was just kidding, but I’ll be interested to see how much we see of Jessica once the playoffs begin.

This past weekend, Caroline Panthers fans made fun of the whole thing by holding up masks with Jessica Simpson’s face on them. It didn’t distract Tony however, as the Cowboys defeated the Panthers, 20-13.

Romo seems to be taking it all in stride. On Wednesday, the Cowboys quarterback showed up for his regular stint on “Inside the Huddle,” the Live 105.3 FM radio show, not only with Jessica Simpson but also with her singing sister Ashlee.

Threesome?

Nah, it seems not even Romo is that lucky. The younger Simpson actually brought along her own man, bassist Pete Wentz from the band “Fall Out Boy.”
